Stretch Marks are medically termed striae. Although stretch marks cannot be completely removed, there are some home remedies that can be used to lighten them and hide their appearance. H

Vitamin Ehelps build both elastin and collagen fibers. Massaging your skin with oils containing vitamin E can help you keep it looking younger and healthier. You can use olive oil or almond oil for massaging your skin.

A homemade recipe using essential oils can also be used to keep the skin soft, supple, healthy, and free of stretch marks. Mix together seven drops of lavender oil with five drops of chamomile oil and an ounce of carrier oil. Apply this on the area where you have stretch marks to make them lighter.

There are some elastin creams that are available commercially. These can be topically applied on the stretch marks to improve skin texture and fade the marks. Cocoa butter is another alternative to such medicinal preparations.
Make stretch mark cream at your home by using following ingredients –
Wheat germ oil – 1 tablespoonCocoa butter – ½ cupGrated beeswax – 2 teaspoonVitamin E oil – 1 teaspoon

Apricot kernel oil – 1 teaspoon

Mix all the ingredients, give heat till beeswax melts. Preserve it in an airtight container and keep it in refrigerator. Apple this frizzed cream to your stretch marks till wanted results are attained.

Another great homemade recipefor removing stretch marks can be made by mixing together half a cup each of extra virgin olive oil and fresh aloe vera gel with the liquid from six capsules each of vitamin E and vitamin A supplements. Once you have mixed all these ingredients, store them in a dark jar and put this in the refrigerator. This oil can be applied all over the skin where you have stretch marks.

You can make your own homemade remedyfor stretch marks by mixing together half a cup of cocoa butter with one part each of wheat germ oil, apricot kernel oil, and vitamin E oil with two teaspoons of grated beeswax. Mix these together till you have an ointment like consistency. If you are allergic to bee venom and bee products, avoid using this remedy.

Apricot scrub or a natural scrub made from oats can be used to slough off dead cells. Removing the dead skin cells can help you clear the skin, thereby lightening the stretch marks.

 

Diet for Stretch Marks: 

A diet for stretch marks is the easiest and most efficient way of lightening stretch marks on your skin. Moreover, since it is important to control your weight loss and your weight gain to prevent stretch marks, eating a healthy diet is a good preventive measure against stretch marks as well. If you already have stretch marks, you should consume a diet that is low in carbohydrates and rich in proteins. A high protein diet that is rich in both vitamins C and E, helps repair skin tissues in a more efficient and speedy manner, thus not only reducing the chances of getting stretch marks but also helping repair them.

Foods that are high in zinc, such as fish and nuts, are also great for your health as well as your skin. Other foods that are considered beneficial for the treatment of stretch marks include milk, carrots, and citrus fruits that are rich in vitamins A, C, and D. Lastly, keeping your skin hydrated is also beneficial for your skin. Therefore, drinking a lot of water and other fluids can be helpful if you have stretch marks or want to avoid getting them. Foods that are rich in silica can help your skin become more elastic. Also, avoiding alcohol and caffeine helps in the prevention of stretch marks, as both are known to have a negative effect on the elasticity of the skin.

Keeping some of these pointers in mind will not only help you treat the Stretch Marks but it will also help you prevent them.
